Extended Suspension of Meetings (UK)

Ref: 2021/COM27                                                                                                      1st June 2021

Dear Knight Priests

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE CURRENT SUSPENSION OF MEETINGS

This applies to Tabernacles that meet in the UK (excluding the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands), all other Tabernacles must continue to observe the rules and/or guidance issued by their Government or State relating to Covid and also those of their local Craft Grand Lodge.

The Executive Committee have considered in depth the possible lifting of restrictions by the UK Government on 21st June 2021. The lessons learned during this pandemic particularly regarding hygiene will shape the future for us all.

As always the welfare of our members and their families remains the primary concern, as well as being responsible citizens within the community. Vaccination does not guarantee total immunity from the virus and a vaccinated persons ability to still transmit the virus is uncertain. A further significant issue is the emergence of variants of concern.

Additionally consideration was given to the venues in which Tabernacles meet, and whether those venues would not only be “Covid safe” but also compliant with the Health and Safety Act.

Therefore the current suspension of meetings will be extended to 31st August 2021.

I know that this will be a disappointment to many of you, but these extra few weeks hopefully will allow time for a healthier and safer environment to emerge when we can all enjoy our wonderful Orders again with less concern or impediment.

Yours sincerely and fraternally

R. Ill. Kt. Pt. Glyn R. Goddard
