Today, 26 October, the Grand High Priest installed R Em Kt Pt Ray Ellis as Grand Superintendent for East Midlands at Rugby. As a stand alone Especial Assembly, it should have been a relatively short meeting, but for some time the Rulers of the Order have become known for their surprises. Ray’s predecessor was promoted from KCPO to GCPO as were the Grand Recorder and Grand Director of Ceremonies. The Deputy Grand Recorder and Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies were also on the receiving end by being appointed KCPO. In spite of it being a stand alone meeting, around 100 Knight Priests were present showing the popularity of Ray.
