The Most Illustrious Grand High Priest has been pleased to appoint Ill.Kt.Pt. Peter Desmond Cole, P.G.VII.P., as the new Grand Superintendent of District No.35 – Bahamas & Jamaica.
The Investiture took place on Saturday 16th January 2010 in Kingston, Jamaica, and was conducted by the out-going Grand Superintendent, R.Em.Kt.Pt. Whilston Davis Taylor, J.P., who Invested Ill.Kt.Pt. Cole as the Right Eminent Grand Superintendent, on behalf of the Most Illustrious Grand High Priest.
R.Em.Kt.Pt. Cole was accompanied to Jamaica by R.Em.Kt.Pt. Gordon Percival Higgs, C.O.M., K.H.W., P.G.VII.P.; Ill.Kt.Pt. Hugh Allison O’Brien, P.G.II.P.; and Ill.Kt.Pt. James Randolph Bain, P.G.IV.P., whom he appointed as District Director of Ceremonies.
Following the Investiture, the Grand Superintendent, accompanied by the other Knight Priests, made his fiirst official visit by attending the meeting of Jamaica Tabernacle No.167, when Em.Kt.Pt. Paul Morgan was Installed as High Priest, and the Grand Superintendent conducted the Grand Point.
Both meetings were happy and enjoyable occasions, conducted in a true Masonic and Christian manner. The Grand Superintendent was most pleased with the support and good wishes he received.
On Sunday 17th January, the Grand Superintendent returned to Nassau, Bahamas, and, on Wednesday the 20th, made an official visit to the Royal Victoria Tabernacle No.76, for the Installation of Em.Kt.Pt. Alexander Roberts as High Priest, where he again conducted the Grand Point.
Whilst not quite a Baptism of Fire, our new Grand Superintendent certainly has enjoyed a hectic start to his new Office and all at Grand College wish him good health and much success.
